First performed in Kuala Lumpur in 2018 and restaged in George Town, Penang in 2019, Tiga 3 was a double-bill of new experimental works by recent theatre graduates and students.
The two pieces T H R E E and Perkhidmatan Bibir / Lip Service explore themes relating to social pressures and hypocrisy in contemporary Malaysia.
This was the third edition of an annual platform established in 2016 to support the work of new and emerging arts practitioners – from writers and producers to actors and directors. Since it began, Tiga has brought together graduates and students from ASWARA, LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore), New Era University College, Point College, Sunway University, The One Academy of Communication Design, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA. One of the TIGA platform’s objectives was also to create more dialogue and networking opportunities between young performing artists in KL and Penang.
