TERBALIK...mesti kena mata... was an experimental workshop performance that attempted to displace the normal hierarchies found in performance making.
The creation of most performance is hierarchical in nature. The one at the peak of the hierarchy - often the director or choreographer - creates the work, and all other ‘departments’ commit to this vision and create to realise this vision. TERBALIK… attempted to deconstruct this frame and turn it on its head, by providing the lighting designer the opportunity of creating the lights first. A performance then created based on the lighting design and score.
