The past decade has seen an increasing awareness and demand for dramaturgical skills within Southeast Asian contemporary performance.
The role of the dramaturg has become more visible on production and festival teams, and the Asian Dramaturgs’ Network was formed in 2016 by those interested to share knowledge, experiences and approaches.
Exploring Dramaturgy brought together performance makers, directors, choreographers, producers, and educators to articulate how dramaturgy may be practiced in diverse ways in Kuala Lumpur.
