A Notional History video portraits by UTAR students

22 March 2023

During the run of A Notional History at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) recently, we had 36 Broadcasting students from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman shadow us during the production.

As part of their Malaysian Media & Culture class led by lecturers Carmen Nge and Andrew Loo, the students were tasked with making 3-minute portraits of each team member of A Notional History - capturing a day in the life of performers, designers, stage manager and director.  For the past few weeks, we had a great time and exchange with the students, the vast majority of whom had never watched any theatre before.  The students participated in rehearsals at our GMBB KL studio as well as bump-in, full dress rehearsals, and performances at klpac.

We were moved by the  observant, thoughtful and fun videos made by the students, as well as  their dedication.  We are very happy to share the videos publicly, beyond the initial framework of a course assignment.

Terima kasih to all the UTAR students, as well as the hardworking, brilliant lecturers Carmen & Andrew!
