About the Instructor

Having performed professionally since she was fifteen, Elaine Pedley is a skilled dancer, choreographer and actor.  Her many theatrical performances include 'Bunga Manggar Bunga Raya', 'That Was The Year', 'The Reluctant Saint,' 'The Trees', 'Playground', 'Nusantara', 'Opera Uda dan Dara,' 'CURFEW!' (2002 Boh Cameronian Arts Awards winner for 'Best Dance Ensemble'), 'Survival!', 'Family' (performed at the 'Festival der Geister Berlin,' 1999), 'Manchester United and The Malay Warrior' (performed in Manchester in conjunction with 'CULTURESHOCK', the 2002 Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival), 'Spring in Kuala Lumpur' (collaboration with Japan-based theatre company Pappa Tarahumara), the 2002 Boh Cameronian Arts Awards winner for Best Play Spilt 'Gravy on Rice' and 'Pygmallion'.

Elaine also facilitates dance and drama corporate workshops and classes for children and adults, having worked on Five Arts Centre's Teater Muda, LUDUS and Attakalari projects.  She has also worked intensively in the film industry, having acted in a telemovie, a VCD series, and a number of sitcoms and advertisements.  She was also the choreographer cum presentation skills consultant for 'Malaysian Idol' (2004) and choreographer for 'Audition' (2005).  She was recently involved in 'Babel', a hip-hop/contemporary dance collaboration with French dancers that was performed during the French Art Festival 2006 in Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur, as well as in Penang, Beijing, Shanghai, Cannes, Paris and Noumea.

In 2006, Elaine worked on a community arts project which was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.  This project won the CSR award in 2006.

Held at the Five Arts Centre Studio (27 Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 7, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, 60000 KL), each intake consists of a series of four classes. Fees are RM120 for all four classes.

Intake 1 - 25, 31 March and 3, 10 April 2008, 8:30pm - 9:30pm
Intake 2 - 4, 11, 18, 25 August 2008, 8:30pm - 9:30pm
Intake 3 - 6, 13, 20, 27 August 2008, 8:30pm - 9:30pm
